We invite you to join the Structural Engineers Association of Massachusetts (SEAMASS), a non-profit organization established to pursue common interests of practicing structural engineers and others sharing an interest in the activities of structural engineers.
Meetings are held throughout the year, typically from September through June, at various locations throughout the Boston area. Each meeting provides an opportunity to hear a guest speaker or presentation on a relevant topic as well as reports on other member activities and issues of interest to our profession. We also sponsor half and full day technical seminars at reduced rates as a service to our membership.
MEMBER BENEFITS
National Membership
SEAMASS Members gain membership in the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA). This entitles them to access all NCSEA member benefits, including member-rates for events.
A Voice & Direct Participation
SEAMASS members enjoy the opportunity to directly participate in the development and enhancement of programs and committee work that advance the practice of structural engineering (locally and nationally).
Peer Networking
The greatest value to any professional organization is the opportunity to meet others in your industry. When you meet and build relationships with people, you can call upon them when in need, and they may recommend you as a contact for a potential job. The more involved you are with SEAMass member activities, the more likely you are to be called upon by other members for guidance. This recognition can propel your company to the forefront of the structural engineering industry.
Technical Support
SEAMASS members have access to technical assistance in answering questions regarding their unique structural engineering challenges. Personal attention is given to each request, and referrals are made as appropriate to specialists in the field of inquiry.
Meetings, Events & Educational Programs
Information exchange, networking and professional development credits are among the key benefits offered at SEAMASS-sponsored meetings and events. Technical sessions, committee meetings, exhibitor opportunities, demonstrations, social interaction highlight these events and each attendee has a wealth of opportunity to interact with industry experts. An annual meeting is held, during which the group’s officers are elected. Some events offer discounted rates for admission.
Professional Development Credits
SEAMASS-sponsored programs typically offer members access to Professional Development Hours (PDHs), and some programs also offer Diamond-Certified PDHs.
STRUCTURE Magazine
SEAMASS members receive STRUCTURE Magazine, the practicing structural engineer’s resource magazine. Published monthly, it is jointly produced by the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA), Structural Engineers Institute (SEI) and the Council of American Structural Engineers (CASE). It features technical articles, industry news, new product announcements, a calendar of worldwide events and project profiles.
SEAMASS NEWS e-newsletter
SEAMASS members receive timely news, information and trends via a complimentary subscription to STRUCTURE MATTERS, the voice and newsletter of SEAMASS. It is distributed regularly as a multi-page PDF file for members’ convenience in on-line viewing or traditional printing.
Sponsorship Opportunities
Members can gain exposure for their business via opportunities via sponsorship-exposure in our Professional and Business Directories.
We welcome and invite you to JOIN SEAMASS.
